About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive Planning Administrator to join a dynamic Development Team. This position involves managing the full lifecycle of planning applications, appeals, and associated documentation. The role also includes supporting feasibility assessments and assisting with a range of development activities.

This is a key role within the team, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects that contribute to sustainability and innovation within the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning Applications: Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Planning Conditions: Oversee the discharge, variation, and removal of planning conditions.
  • Documentation: Assist in preparing Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) exemption statements, as well as design and access, heritage, and other topic:specific statements.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with local planning authorities and consultants to address queries and streamline the application process.
  • Monitoring: Track the progress of planning applications, providing regular updates and resolving potential issues promptly.
  • Research and Feasibility: Conduct preliminary research to assess the feasibility and risks of proposed projects, including reviewing local development plans and policies.
  • Project Support: Provide input on project planning and design to ensure alignment with planning requirements and industry best practices.
  • Policy Updates: Stay informed on local and national planning policies, with a focus on sustainable transport, climate change, and air quality.

Key Skills And Experience

  • A degree in Town Planning, Geography, or a similar relevant field
  • experience in planning coordination or a related role within the property or development sector.
  • Experience in processing and validating planning applications within a planning department is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation, including the General Permitted Development Order (2015) and the Development Management Procedure Order (2015).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective organisational and analytical abilities, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach, working effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
