St Giles Trust
About the role
You will manage two caseworkers delivering a Ministry of Justice-funded service for adult women eligible for the deferred sentencing pathway through magistrates’ courts. Working across women’s centres and courts in York and Scarborough, and with court partners covering York, Selby and Scarborough, you will help ensure women receive coordinated, holistic support tailored to their needs. You will work closely with probation, specialist agencies and our Women’s Alliance Flourish team, contributing to the county’s Whole Systems Approach for Women and Girls. You will report to the Operations Manager (Justice) Yorkshire.
What you will do
- Lead, support and develop two caseworkers through regular supervision, coaching and caseload reviews.
- Oversee safe, high-quality service delivery, including safeguarding, quality audits, compliance and progress against contractual targets.
- Build strong relationships with magistrates, court advisers, probation and voluntary and statutory partners to support referrals and joined-up working.
- Promote the service through a regular court presence, presentations, events and partnership meetings.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare service performance reports and attend commissioner meetings.
- Contribute to the safe running of the women’s centres and create an inclusive, supportive environment for colleagues and women accessing the service.
What you will bring
- Experience of the criminal justice system or associated pathways, and of engaging people with complex and multiple needs, including those who may find it difficult to access support.
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, professional boundaries and the barriers people face in accessing specialist support.
- A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice, cultural awareness and creating a kind, respectful and inclusive working environment.
- A relevant qualification at A-level standard or above in an area such as social care, advice work or youth work, or progress towards one. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- A current driving licence and your own transport for countywide travel.
