NOC Engineer - Tier 1

MLL Telecom

As a Tier 1 NOC Engineer, you will be the first line of defence for our managed network services. The main responsibility will be identifying, diagnosing, managing and resolving incidents, minimising the impact of any network outage and customer downtime.

We are looking for a candidate who is genuinely passionate and eager to build a career within Network Operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated to learn on the job, develop their technical skills, and grow within a supportive team environment.

Above all, we are seeking someone with the right attitude — a proactive, positive, and can-do mindset. The ideal candidate will be curious, resilient when facing challenges, and willing to take ownership of their development. A strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service are essential to success in this role.

  • Juniper (Junos OS)
  • Fortinet (FortiOS/FortiGate)
  • MikroTik (RouterOS)
  • Protocols: Basic understanding of BGP, OSPF, and VPN (IPsec/SSL) tunnels.

  • Previous experience in a 24/7 NOC environment.
  • Experience with ticketing systems

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage incidents from initial detection through to resolution, ensuring SLA compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, Internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless network services.
  • Carry out initial diagnostics and approved configuration changes on network devices, including Juniper, Fortinet, and MikroTik platforms.
  • Escalate incidents to internal support teams, vendors, and carriers, providing accurate diagnostics and supporting information.
  • Liaise with network providers and third parties to coordinate fault investigation and service restoration.
  • Maintain accurate ticket records, technical documentation, and customer communications throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Support Major Incident activities, planned maintenance, and approved network changes as required.
  • Work in accordance with ITIL-based Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management processes.
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous service improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Delivering Excellence: This belief stems from being accountable to one another. Having confidence in our data enables us to be accountable. And being prepared to challenge means we don't settle for mediocre.
