BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATOR

East Sussex College Group

Are you looking for a role where your organisation skills and proactive approach can help drive business growth?

Do you enjoy working with people, managing priorities and making things happen?

We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Business Development Administrator to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting our work with employers and partners across East Sussex. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager and Business Development Advisers, helping us deliver an excellent service to employers and maximise new business and income opportunities for the College.

This is much more than a general administration role. You will be at the centre of our employer engagement activity, helping the team manage employer relationships, opportunities and business development activity from initial enquiry through to delivery.

This exciting role will include:

You will provide high-quality administrative and coordination support across the Business Development team, including:

  • CRM and pipeline management, ensuring employer records, leads, opportunities and follow-up actions are accurate and up to date.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for employer enquiries, providing a professional and responsive service.
  • Supporting the preparation of employer proposals, quotations, presentations and business development documentation.
  • Producing and maintaining KPI, pipeline and performance reports, helping the team monitor employer engagement, conversions, opportunities and income.
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of employer events, forums, networking activities and campaigns.
  • Coordinating employer meetings, appointments and follow-up activity for the Business Development team.
  • Working with teams across the College to connect employers with opportunities including apprenticeships, commercial training, T Levels, work experience and wider workforce development.
  • Supporting employer communications and promotional activity.
  • Helping the Business Development Manager and Advisers ensure opportunities are followed up and progressed efficiently.

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicating with employers, customers and colleagues.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experienced in providing high-quality administrative or customer service support.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems.
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems, spreadsheets, databases and performance information.
  • Proactive and able to follow up actions without needing constant direction.
  • Professional, positive and customer-focused.
  • A strong team player who enjoys working in a busy and commercially focused environment.

Experience of business development, sales administration, employer engagement or CRM systems would be an advantage, but most importantly, we're looking for someone with the organisation, professionalism and enthusiasm to support a busy Business Development team.

Why join us?

You'll be joining a team that works closely with employers and partners across East Sussex, developing opportunities that support businesses, create opportunities for learners and generate growth for the College.

If you're an excellent administrator who enjoys working with people, keeping things organised and playing an important part in moving opportunities forward, we'd love to hear from you.
