  • Assist students during lessons, practical activities, and social times to help them engage fully in college life.
  • Support the implementation of strategies identified within EHCPs and SEN Support Plans.
  • Work closely with tutors to adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual learner needs.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, and independent learning skills.
  • Collaborate with curriculum and Inclusive Learning teams to ensure students receive the support they need to achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Represent the College at internal and external events when required.

If you can demonstrate the following, then we’d love to hear from you:

  • Experience supporting young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive learning practices.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience implementing strategies to support student engagement, behaviour, and achievement.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A patient, positive, and proactive approach, with a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • SEND-related qualification, knowledge of post-16 education, and understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education and the Prevent Duty would be advantageous.
