Facilities Team Leader

APEM

About The Role

Are you an experienced facilities professional who enjoys keeping workplaces running smoothly, solving problems and making sure the day-to-day details are taken care of?

Do you have experience supporting or managing a team and maintaining safe, well-run facilities?

We’re looking for a Facilities Team Leader to join APEM Group, based at our office in Stockport.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll help keep our offices and facilities across the UK and Ireland running efficiently, safely and effectively. You’ll coordinate the day-to-day work of our Facilities Co-ordinators, helping the team manage requests, prioritise tasks and provide a reliable service to colleagues across the business.

Working closely with the Facilities Compliance Manager, you’ll oversee practical facilities activities including building maintenance, repairs, health and safety compliance, security, cleaning, waste management, office supplies and asset management.

You’ll be a key point of contact for colleagues, landlords, contractors and suppliers, helping to resolve issues, coordinate maintenance and ensure work is completed safely and to a good standard. You’ll also support office moves, refurbishments, inspections and audits, while identifying practical ways to improve processes and make better use of resources.

No two days will necessarily be the same. We’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable and comfortable juggling competing priorities. You’ll take pride in getting things done, use your own initiative to solve problems and enjoy working with people to keep everything running smoothly.

The role is based on-site in Stockport, with occasional travel to other APEM locations across the UK and Ireland, so a flexible approach is important.

You’ll need to bring

  • Experience in facilities management, including the day-to-day maintenance and operation of workplaces.

  • Previous experience managing or coordinating a team

  • A good understanding of health and safety, compliance and risk assessments.

  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a flexible attitude towards occasional travel across the UK and Ireland.

It’s a bonus if you have

  • Experience coordinating office moves, refurbishments or facilities projects.

  • A health and safety qualification, such as IOSH or NEBOSH.

  • Experience with supplier management, procurement, inspections or audits.

  • Knowledge of ISO standards or environmental and sustainability initiatives.
