Technical Director

Help Build the Future of Food at St Ewe

This isn't just another Technical Director role.

It's an opportunity to help shape the future of one of the UK's most distinctive, ambitious and fastest-growing food businesses.

At St Ewe, we've spent years challenging convention, pushing boundaries and proving that eggs can be so much more than a commodity.

Today we're a multi-award-winning, family-owned B Corp business supplying major retailers, foodservice operators and manufacturers across the UK, underpinned by exceptional standards, strong farming partnerships and a relentless focus on quality.

But we're only just getting started.

Our Purpose

We strive to unlock the potential of every egg.

Our 2030 Mission

To build the UK's most distinctive and trusted egg brand, known for exceptional quality, strong farming partnerships and leading the future of eggs.

To help us get there, we're looking for an exceptional Technical Director.

Not someone who simply protects standards.

We're looking for someone who helps build the future.

A strategic technical leader who can safeguard food safety and quality, inspire teams, drive innovation, and build the technical, food science and product development capability needed for our next phase of growth.

As a key member of our Executive Team, you'll lead our technical agenda across shell eggs, our newly commissioned liquid egg business, our farms, and wider producer network.

You'll be the organisation's leading voice on food safety, quality, technical compliance, and technical innovation, ensuring we continue to scale without ever compromising on what makes St Ewe special.

Working closely with Operations, Agriculture & Sustainability, Marketing and Commercial teams, you'll help shape strategy, support innovation, and ensure we're ready for the exciting opportunities ahead.

You'll thrive here if you

  • Love building and scaling ambitious food businesses
  • Are passionate about food safety, quality, and doing things the right way
  • Enjoy leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Can balance technical integrity with commercial opportunity
  • Get excited by food science, innovation, and new product development
  • Understand the challenges and opportunities of manufacturing growth
  • Are comfortable influencing at Board and Executive level
  • Believe food safety and commercial success go hand in hand
  • Want to leave a lasting legacy, not simply maintain the status quo

Experience within food manufacturing, food science, liquid processing, high-care environments, or technically complex supply chains would be particularly valuable. Experience working with major UK retailers and customer-facing technical relationships would also be advantageous.

Our Values

Bold. Nurturing. Positive. Transparent.

These aren't words on a wall.

They shape every decision we make, from how we support our people and farming partners to how we care for our hens, customers, and communities.

As a certified B Corp, we're committed to building a business that delivers for people, planet, and profit.

"We're looking for someone who shares our ambition, our values and our belief that business can be a force for good. This role is about building the technical, quality and food safety foundations that will support the next phase of St Ewe's growth, while helping us unlock new opportunities through food science, innovation and product development."

Why this role?

Because opportunities like this don't come around often.

You'll join a business with ambitious plans, incredible momentum, and a genuinely special culture.

You'll influence strategy at the highest level, lead a talented technical team, shape our technical innovation agenda, and play a key role in developing our rapidly growing liquid egg business.

You'll help create the standards, capability and culture that will support our journey towards becoming the UK's most distinctive and trusted egg brand.

Growth matters.

Quality matters.

People matter most.

If you're excited by purpose, innovation, food science and the opportunity to help shape what's next, we'd love to hear from you
