Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Personal Tax Semi Senior to join our dynamic tax team. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in personal tax who is looking to take the next step in their career. As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in managing client relationships, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage portfolio of personal tax clients ensuring compliance with HMRC and in-house deadlines
- Prepare tax computations and returns for Manager/Partner review
- Review tax work prepared by non-tax specialists
- Provide technical assistance in resolving tax queries
- Provide assistance on ad hoc advisory projects including technical research
- Provide advice on tax liabilities, working within tax law and HMRC provisions
- Identify tax planning opportunities
- Provide capital gains and inheritance tax planning advice
- Manage complex HMRC correspondence
Skills, Qualifications And Other Requirements
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a team, yet also work using own initiative when required.
- ATT/CTA qualified or prepared to work towards
- Good commercial understanding
- Ability to work to demanding deadlines in a high pressurised environment
- Ability to travel to client premises and between offices
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail and technical ability
- Proven analytical skills
- Good understanding of accounts
- Self motivated and keen to progress
