Insurance Assistant

37 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, busy and dynamic insurance team dealing with all aspects of the Council’s insurances, including claims received from the public or their legal representatives for personal injury and/or property damage.
The main duties of the role will be to assist with the administration and handling of public liability and property claims, including maintaining accurate and up to date claims records. Also, to assist with the management of insurance related matters and administration of leasehold and commercially leased properties.
You need to be able to work well under pressure and have good communication skills used to liaise with a range of audiences to include the general public, internal departments, solicitors and external
organisations.
You will need to possess knowledge and understanding of general insurance and it would be advantageous if you had recent experience of working within an insurance environment and/or hold any recognised insurance qualifications (including working towards). You should also be a proficient user of PC based applications such as Microsoft Office packages.
