Role Overview

As a Butcher, you'll join a professional and customer-focused team responsible for delivering high-quality products and an exceptional customer experience. This is an opportunity to use your expertise every day, preparing products to the highest standards while contributing to the success of a busy and well-established butchery operation.

Key Duties

• Prepare a range of meat cuts to customer and company specifications.
• Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service, helping customers select products and get the most from their purchase.
• Maintain the butchery counter and pre-pack areas to excellent hygiene and presentation standards.
• Support stock rotation activities to ensure product quality, freshness, and availability.
• Prepare product samples and assist with promotional activities.
• Receive deliveries and complete associated paperwork accurately.
• Support wider store operations and contribute to the smooth running of the business.
• Provide cover and support for the Store Manager when required.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within a retail butchery environment is essential.
• Strong knife skills and experience preparing a range of meat cuts to a high standard.
• A proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and achieving sales objectives.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and legal requirements relevant to butchery operations.
• Experience supporting, training, or developing colleagues.
• Confidence to step into a supervisory role and support the wider team when required.
• Able to work independently, use initiative, and manage priorities effectively.
• Flexible, organised, and comfortable working in a busy environment.
• Strong communication skills with a positive and professional approach.
