TIG & MIG Welder

Salary: £15.50 – £16.37 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 4:30pm

Contract: 12-week temp-to-perm

Location: On-site

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder on behalf of our well-established client, a leading UK manufacturer specialising in sheet metal fabrication and stainless steel product design.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder looking to join a professional manufacturing environment offering long-term employment prospects following a successful 12-week temporary period.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG and TIG welding to a high standard
• Weld a variety of fabricated components in line with drawings and specifications
• Work predominantly with sheet metal and stainless steel components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication drawings
• Prepare materials and components prior to welding
• Carry out basic fabrication, fitting and finishing duties where required
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet required quality and dimensional standards
• Use hand tools, power tools and relevant welding equipment safely
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Work closely with the wider production team to achieve quality and production targets

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a MIG/TIG Welder, Fabricator Welder or Production Welder
• Strong MIG and/or TIG welding skills
• Experience working within a fabrication, engineering or manufacturing environment
• Experience welding stainless steel and sheet metal would be advantageous
• The ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on weld quality
• Previous coded welding experience or current/previous welding codings would be highly advantageous
• A reliable, hardworking and positive approach to work
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
