About The Role

Reporting to the partners, the Client Manager at Sheridan Maine London will oversee a varied portfolio of clients from the High Wycombe office. This permanent, full-time post suits a qualified or part-qualified accountant with strong practice background. Duties include preparing accurate statutory accounts, tax computations and management information, alongside reviewing work produced by junior colleagues. The successful candidate will serve as principal contact for clients, building trusted relationships and delivering proactive advisory support. Strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail and confident communication skills are essential. Salary ranges from £40,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualification status.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant with strong practice experience who enjoys building trusted client relationships and taking ownership of a varied portfolio.

The Role

As Client Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients, providing a high-quality accounting and advisory service while acting as a key point of contact. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, deliver accurate and timely accounts and identify opportunities to support their wider business goals.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Managing a varied portfolio of clients, from owner-managed businesses to SMEs.
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts.
• Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns.
• Providing clients with practical accounting and financial advice.
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
• Overseeing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team and providing guidance where required.
• Supporting the development of junior colleagues.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional services and add value for clients.

About You

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice, together with strong technical knowledge and excellent client relationship skills.

You Will Ideally Have

• Practice-based accounting experience.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• Strong knowledge of accounts and tax.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, commercial and client-focused approach.
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification, or be part-qualified/studying towards a relevant qualification.
