Are you a commercially minded procurement professional with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills? We are seeking a Commercial Practitioner to join our Finance Department at Nottinghamshire Police.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver procurement strategies that support organisational priorities and deliver value for money.
• Lead procurement exercises, including tenders, requests for quotations and framework agreements.
• Provide expert procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with contract owners to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
• Produce contracts and associated documentation, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement regulations and financial procedures.
• Support commercial projects and initiatives that improve efficiency and deliver sustainable benefits.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive procurement outcomes.
• Monitor commercial and market trends to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience delivering procurement activity in a complex organisational environment.
• Sound knowledge of procurement regulations, legislation and commercial best practice.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and working to demanding deadlines.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to assess risks, costs and benefits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
• Understanding of project management principles and procurement technologies.
• MCIPS qualification (or working towards), equivalent procurement qualification, or relevant commercial experience.
