We have an excellent opportunity for an IT Operations Engineer to join our IT team at our Head Office, Albany House in Eastbourne. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will play an important role in maintaining, supporting and developing the technology infrastructure that keeps Brewers running efficiently and our colleagues connected.

As part of our IT Operations team, you will help deliver operational excellence through the installation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure, networks, telephony and business systems. You will support strategic technology projects, work closely with suppliers and colleagues across the business and provide technical expertise to ensure our systems remain secure, reliable and fit for the future.

This is a varied, hands on role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting users and contributing to technology improvements that make a real difference to the business. Whilst primarily based in Eastbourne, occasional travel to branches across our network will be required, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

Key Objectives In This Role Include

  • Supporting the IT Operations Manager in delivering technology initiatives that support business growth and operational efficiency
  • Installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining network, telephony and business systems infrastructure
  • Supporting the availability, resilience and integrity of the Company's IT infrastructure, disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements
  • Working with third party suppliers to maintain high levels of service and accountability
  • Supporting the delivery of IT projects to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring incidents are resolved effectively and within agreed service levels
  • Providing field based support, including installation, configuration and basic user training where required
  • Ensuring appropriate governance, security controls and compliance standards are maintained across the IT estate
  • Implementing and maintaining secure data transfer and connectivity solutions
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, processes and user guides
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business and sharing technical knowledge to support continuous improvement
  • Supporting occasional out of hours work for operational activities and business critical changes

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience supporting and administering IT infrastructure and operational services
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products such as 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Windows Server
  • Experience with networking technologies and infrastructure support
  • Understanding of IT security, disaster recovery and business continuity principles
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • A proactive and self motivated approach, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience using PowerShell or other automation tools would be beneficial.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
