Property Mechanical & Electrical Technician

We're looking for a Property Mechanical & Electrical Technician to play a vital role in keeping our stations, depot facilities and operational buildings safe, compliant and fully operational.

In this hands-on role, you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and refurbishment activities across a wide range of assets, plant machinery and equipment, helping to prevent failures and minimise service disruption.

This role involves travel across the route between Nuneaton and London Euston.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm, with an additional on-call rota approximately every six weeks, including weekend cover.

Please note interviews are likely to be held mid to end of August.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across stations, depots and office buildings.
  • Maintain and repair specialist depot equipment, including wash plants, CET and fuelling systems.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Ensure all work complies with statutory requirements, company standards and health and safety procedures.
  • Accurately record maintenance activities and support colleagues to minimise disruption and maintain service reliability.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Time-served in electrical or mechanical maintenance with a relevant trade qualification.
  • Experience working in an industrial maintenance environment, with knowledge of maintaining plant equipment such as cranes, MEWPs, FLTs and pump trucks.
  • Understanding of maintenance regulations and safe working practices, including COSHH, working at height and manual handling.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently, use initiative and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic IT skills, experience using CAFM or similar systems, and a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.

To ensure continuity and an effective delivery of service, successful candidates will be required to commit to a minimum 14-month period in role after achieving competence. This also includes existing colleagues who move by internal promotions and transfers.
