We're looking for an experienced Radiographic Testing (RT) Technician to join our team in Willenhall. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established Aerospace Testhouse environment, supporting high-profile customers while developing your career with a global organisation.

The Role

As an NDT Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out Radiographic Testing and associated control processes in accordance with internal procedures, customer specifications and acceptance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Radiographic Testing of metallic and non-metallic components, weldments, fabrications, and structures using established and controlled techniques and control procedures to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Maintain effective communications with the Operations Manager and Team Leader regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost activity.
  • Maintain current understanding of all current company, client and/or legislative requirements affecting conventional and advanced NDT techniques and conduct all work in accordance with them.
  • Ensure equipment and consumables are within calibration dates prior to use, an dreport any deviation to management.
  • Produce written reports of inspections in accordance with the company’s quality control procedures and to ensure all reports are produced and submitted to the client as defined by company quality control procedures following Applus+ NDT Reporting Procedure.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives as determined by the Operations Manager.
  • Maintain timesheets and all other necessary paperwork.
  • Assist in the training and development of less experienced members of staff.
  • Ensure all internal and external training, as defined by the company, is completed within advised timescale.
  • Provide Management with signed copies new training certification as and when achieved.
  • Adhere to and understand the Inspector Declaration form and its relevance to the incumbents’ responsibilities regarding Independence, Impartiality and Integrity.
  • Adhere to and understand the Letter of Authorisation Acknowledgement along with understanding and accepting the associated Letter of Authorisation detailing the activities the incumbent are authorised to perform while working for Applus UK Ltd.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • EN4179/NAS410 Radiographic Testing (RT) Level 2 certification OR PCN Level 2 certification in Radiographic Testing if you have a genuine interest in Aerospace
  • Demonstrable experience within an NDT, manufacturing, test house, laboratory or other highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of radiographic inspection techniques and reporting requirements.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Digital Radiography (DR) experience.
  • Additional NDT certifications in PT, MT and/or UT.
  • IOSH qualification.
  • Forklift Truck licence.
  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Applus+ services.
