Finance Assistant

Beaufort is a global leader in survival and safety technologies, protecting personnel operating in some of the world’s most demanding defence and aerospace environments.
We are seeking a part-time Finance Assistant on a 12-month fixed term contract to support our Finance team based at our Ellesmere Port site.
Requirements
- Managing daily accounting tasks and carrying out ad-hoc financial and administrative duties as requested by the Finance Manager.
- Keep physical and digital filing systems neat, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.
- Assist the finance team with month-end close by preparing accruals and prepayments schedules.
- Process invoices: Check, code, and enter supplier invoices and employee expenses into the accounting system.
- Manage payments: Prepare and run payment cycles (e.g., BACS) on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
- Reconcile statements: Match invoices to purchase orders and reconcile monthly supplier statements to clear any differences.
- Vendor communication: Act as the main point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolving any discrepancies regarding payments or missing invoices.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience in a finance or business administration role.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- High level of numerical accuracy and the ability to spot errors quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for building strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.
- AAT qualification.
