An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Forensic Service and the Intellectual Disability Team within NHS Dumfries and Galloway! We’re seeking an organised and motivated Team Secretary to support our NHS Specialist Forensic Team and Learning Disability Service. In this key role, you’ll provide efficient administrative and secretarial support to our multidisciplinary team.

The NHS Specialist Forensic Service and Intellectual Disability Team are specialist multidisciplinary services supporting adults to live healthier, safer and more independent lives. They work with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies to deliver person-centred care tailored to individual needs. The Specialist Forensic Team also works closely with Criminal Justice Partnership colleagues, the Scottish Prison Service and secure hospital services.

The Team Secretary will provide vital administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the services. The post will work alongside other team secretaries to manage diaries and appointments, handle calls and emails, prepare letters and reports, take meeting minutes, and maintain accurate electronic records. The role involves coordinating communication between clinicians, services and service users, ensuring information is handled professionally, confidentially and efficiently. The preferred candidate will have experience of working in administration and will require strong organisational skills, good IT competence, excellent communication, and the ability to prioritise in a busy team environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with an opportunity for hybrid working.
