We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Ward Nurse to join our dedicated team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet. This is your chance to provide outstanding, patient-centred care in a supportive environment, working alongside a friendly multidisciplinary team that’s passionate about delivering the highest standards in line with NMC guidelines.

This is a full-time position working,

37.5 hours a week with a combination of shifts;

  • Monday to Sunday - Long Days: 07:00-1930 (primary shift patterns)
  • Monday to Sunday - Night shifts 19:00 - 07:30
  • Weekdays, weekends and bank holidays

What you'll be doing

As Our Registered Nurse, You Will Be

  • Delivering high-quality nursing care to our patients on the ward.
  • Taking charge in the absence of senior staff, ensuring smooth and safe ward operations.
  • Supervising and supporting HCAs and junior nurses, promoting best practice and professional development.
  • Accurately assessing, monitoring, and recording patient observations, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with NMC and hospital standards.
  • Supporting patient and family engagement in care planning and delivery.
  • Assisting with audits and contributing to continuous improvement in clinical standards.

What we'll look for in you

As a NMC Registered Nurse, You Will Have

  • Relevant post-registration experience, ideally in a surgical setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your workload effectively, even under pressure.
  • A positive and adaptable approach, with the motivation to contribute to continuous improvement.
