An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Warehouse Officer. The role is Inverness based at our new Distribution Centre/warehousing facility. The successful candidate will work as part of a team carrying out a range of warehousing & administrative duties to support the operations within the Supply Chain Logistics Distribution Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing incoming deliveries for onward secondary delivery within North NHS Highland. The Distribution Centre will be the central receipt point for all deliveries to Supply Chain/Logistics within North NHS Highland. The Distribution Centre services all North NHS Highland customers. The successful candidate will have an SNVQ2 in Warehousing or equivalent evidential experience.

It is essential that candidates have recent relevant experience in a Distribution centre environment or similar logistics field, a period of in-house training/induction will be required. A good standard of education to standard level with proven literacy and numeracy skills is essential. Candidates must be IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office applications such as word and excel and e-mail, they should also have experience of computerised stock inventory and e-Procurement systems. Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate positively and professionally. Candidates will require a good level of general fitness as the post involves frequent daily physical effort in carrying out moving and handling of often heavy loads. It is desirable that candidates will be proficient with the use of moving & handling equipment such as a pallet truck, although in-house training can be provided.
