An exciting opportunity has arisen for a developing pharmacy technician to join a dynamic clinical pharmacy team to deliver operational and clinical pharmacy services to the patients and staff at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a progression post, initially working as a clinical pharmacy technician (band 4), whilst completing the relevant training to become a certified medicines management technician (MMT). The post holder will have a maximum of 36 months from the date of employment to complete this training, and quality support and guidance will be provided from the organisation to complete this.

Upon successful completion of the training, the post holder will be automatically promoted to a MMT role (band 5).

You will be a key member of the ward pharmacy teams across an array of clinical specialities.

Some examples of clinical speciality areas includes: cardiology, acute medicine, older persons medicine, neurology, general surgery, general medicine, trauma & orthopaedics, oncology, haematology, and paediatrics.

The suitable candidate will need to have a breadth of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting, with the proven ability to perform as a team player.

Applicants must be a Pharmacy Technician, registered with GPhC. We will accept applications from pre-registration technicians qualifying in 2026.

The Successful Candidate Will Work 37.5 Hours Per Week Between 8.30-5pm Monday-Friday With The Working Pattern To Be Agreed On Successful Appointment. They Will Also Be Included In Dispensary And Extended/out-of-hours Rotas, Which Are Currently

  • Weekend working once every 5 weeks (9am-5pm Saturday or Sunday, reimbursed with a full weekday off the following week)
  • Late night working once every 2 weeks (hours 9am-5.30pm instead of 8.30am-5pm)
  • Contribution to bank holiday working rota
