We’re looking for an Admin Team Leader to oversee a dynamic team and drive excellence across our service.
The Child Health Information Service (CHIS) plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people across Kent and Medway. We manage and provide high-quality child health data, working in partnership with NHS teams, schools, GP practices, and local authorities to ensure effective care from birth through to age 19.
Our Service Is Delivered Across Three Dedicated Areas
- Newborn Screening – recording key health checks within the first year of life
- Pre-School – tracking immunisations and developmental checks up to school age
- School-Age – supporting health records through to early adulthood
From receiving birth notifications and informing health visitors, to managing screening programmes such as blood spot testing, hearing checks and NIPE assessments, our team ensures every child’s health journey is accurately recorded. We also coordinate immunisations and developmental reviews, ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers and families.

In this role, you’ll supervise day-to-day operations, coordinate workloads, and ensure performance and motivation remain high. You’ll play a key role in shaping efficient administrative processes while fostering a collaborative, supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Line management of an administrative team, including appraisals, absence, and performance management
- Coordinating and allocating workloads to meet service priorities
- Implementing and improving administrative processes in line with service requirements
- Reviewing, collating and managing data to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Producing and analysing regular and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders
