GMAIC Team Manager
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust
We have an opportunity for you to join the Greater Manchester Assessment and In-reach Team or GMAIC, as it's often referred to. This is newly created post in a team manager role.
Working closely with the Clinical staff, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs in the community.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by driving service excellence, fostering strong partnerships, and supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding outcomes.
You will be enthusiastic, demonstrate a proactive approach to their work, engage in learning and development and be passionate about working within crisis care. The assessment centre is committed to supporting the successful individual within a robust development framework and will offer appropriate support and regular supervision.
GMAIC’s role is to offer gatekeeping assessments, bed management and case management to any CYP, who may require a Tier 4 Inpatient admission. We work in collaboration with our NHS inpatient providers, for any Tier 4 referral/request for an Inpatient admission.
You will have the opportunity to make profound improvements in how crisis care is experienced by young people and those who care for them.
You will be working closely with our inpatient colleagues and have responsibility of managing the Single Point of Access for all Inpatient referrals for the GM population of 13-18 year old young people who are being considered for inpatient care.
You will also have the opportunity to work closely with external services such as social care, CAMHS, FCAMHS, CMHT, CEDS, EIT, HTT to ensure the correct pathways are in place, to support our CYP’s discharge from hospital.
We have seen already how we have positively impacted in ensuring that our young people are being supported within local services, and with the help of our colleagues within the Crisis Pathway reducing the dependency on inpatient care, meaning young people are getting supported at home, in a timely manner.
As a member of the Greater Manchester Assessment and Inreach Centre you will be at the heart of a well-funded, well organised, hugely valued work-stream.
We are proud to provide high quality mental health and learning disability services, both inpatient and in the community across five boroughs of Greater Manchester - Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport and Tameside and Glossop.
Our vision is for a happier and more hopeful life for everyone in our communities and our staff work hard to deliver the very best care for the people who use our services. We’re really proud of our #PennineCarePeople and do everything we can to make sure we’re a great place to work.
All individuals regardless of race, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership are encouraged to apply for this post. We would also encourage applications from individuals with a lived experience of mental illness, either individually or as a carer.
If you come and work for us we will offer a range of benefits and opportunities, including:
- Generous annual leave entitlement for Agenda for Change and Medical and Dental staff.
- Flexible working opportunities to support your work/life balance
- Access to Continued Professional Development
- Involvement in improvement and research activities
