About the role
The postholder will provide information, advice and practical support on all social welfare law matters, maintaining clear and accurate records of client interactions. You will provide support and guidance to our outreach volunteers and will attend community events and one-off advice and information sessions, some of which may be outside normal office hours, including Saturdays on occasion.
We want people who are passionate about giving an effective service to those most in need. You will need to demonstrate that you can engage skilfully with people from all backgrounds, including clients who are vulnerable and distressed.
You will be a highly motivated strong team player with excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work in a busy office environment.
You will have the ability to understand written and oral information of some complexity, have good numeracy skills, and have effective oral and written communication skills in order to liaise with clients, volunteers and external parties.
A DBS check will be required for this role. Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. We will consider job applicants on their individual merits.
You will need to be able to travel across the borough in very short time frames, therefore a driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
