Position
The Systems Division of OSIL specialises in the design, build, commissioning and service of real-time data acquisition and monitoring platforms for offshore and coastal engineering projects globally.
Due to continued growth, and in order to better serve the increasing needs of the business, we are looking to recruit an additional Electro Mechanical Engineer to assist with the design, build and maintenance for our expanding range of products.
This varied post will comprise a combination of development/ assembly work with the opportunity for overseas travel to support products in the field. This is a challenging highly diverse role that requires a wide range of skills from electronics, mechanics, integration, networking & communications. Based in our UK facility on the South Coast the role will encompass varied responsibilities, the key aspects of which:
· Assist with the mechanical design and assembly of a range of products
· Assist with the build and integration of the electronic side of our product
· Help configure instruments to collect data according to client requirements
· Configuration and testing of real-time data acquisition software
· Testing & QA of finished products
· International travel to conduct installation, commissioning and maintenance duties
Position Requirements
The candidate we have in mind is inquisitive, able to think ‘outside the box’, stress resistant, has an accurate work practice and a can-do hands-on mentality. The following qualifications and experience are also required:
· Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Networking or Communications background (ideally at degree level)
· SolidWorks desirable
· PCB Design desirable
· Experience in software/firmware development desirable
· Strong computing and IT knowledge
· Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written service reports
· Team player
