About the role
What does the average day look like?
NCB Rail Assurance are an independent subsidiary of Network Rail. Our role is to assess and certify infrastructure, operational and organisational change assessment for Britain's railway. We work with infrastructure managers, train operators, contractors and suppliers providing expert solutions that support a safer and more reliable railway for everyone.
On an average day, you will support the delivery of NCB's marketing plan by engaging with stakeholders and event partners to ensure the organisation maintains a strong and visible presence in the market. You will also work closely with the sales and marketing team to contribute to competitive bid submissions, helping to create high-quality and compelling content.
While managing and updating NCBs website and LinkedIn page, ensuring communications remain current, engaging and aligned with business objectives. A key part of the role is maintaining and developing the NCB brand through the creation and updating of CVs, case studies and other marketing materials. Where required, you will also liaise with external design agencies to produce professional marketing collateral and support wider branding initiatives.

Your experience and skills
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a proactive and creative marketing professional who can manage and deliver a wide range of marketing activities that support business growth and strengthen NCB's market presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing targeted marketing campaigns, managing and developing engaging website and LinkedIn content, and supporting competitive bids with high-quality branded materials.
They will maintain a library of case studies and CVs, coordinate relationships with external agencies and industry organisations, and identify opportunities to maximise NCB's visibility through events and memberships. With strong organisational skills and attention to detail, they will continuously evaluate marketing performance, ensure value for money, and uphold NCB and Network Rail marketing standards and processes.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience in the management of marketing, in a related communication environment
- Able to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal teams, external creative agencies and industry partners to deliver high-quality marketing outputs
- Very good written and presentation skills, able to produce accurate, engaging and on¿brand content for marketing campaigns, bid submissions and stakeholder presentations. Professional marketing qualification (CIM) and/or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable digital marketing experience in web and social media channels
Desirable
- Educated to degree level in Marketing or Communications or equivalent qualification or experience
- Client-side and agency experience
- Brand development experience
- Experience in competitive bid submissions
