About the role

Balfour Beatty Power T&D is looking for an experienced Site Manager – OHL to join our growing team To help deliver OHL National Grid Projects across England and Wales and support in the growth across the power industry. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of major electricity transmission infrastructure projects, supporting the UK's transition to a low-carbon future.

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for safely managing and coordinating site activities, ensuring works are delivered to programme, budget and quality requirements. You will lead site teams, subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining a relentless focus on health, safety and environmental performance.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and manage OHL construction activities on site.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, sustainably and in compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Coordinate site resources, subcontractors and plant to achieve programme milestones.
  • Produce and maintain site records, progress reports, daily diaries and project documentation.
  • Monitor quality, productivity and performance against project objectives.
  • Manage and review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are implemented.
  • Carry out site inspections, safety tours and support incident investigations.
  • Support project planning, risk management and short-interval control processes.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, clients and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and promote Balfour Beatty's Zero Harm culture

Who we're looking for

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager within the Power Transmission & Distribution sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Overhead Line (OHL) construction activities.
  • Experience implementing safe systems of work and managing project risks.
  • Ability to lead site teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and solve problems proactively.
  • Good knowledge of commercial and project management processes.
  • CSCS and SSSTS (or equivalent qualification).

Desirable

  • Experience delivering National Grid or major transmission projects.
  • Experience across a variety of infrastructure project types.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
