Recruitment & Compliance Officer – Healthcare

Location: Southport, Lancashire

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm

Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week

Working arrangement: Office-based

The Opportunity

Our client is a multi-award-winning care and support group providing specialist complex care services to adults and children in their own homes.

Due to continued growth, they have newley created a centralised recruitment hub at their Southport headquarters and are looking for an experienced Recruitment & Compliance Officer to join the team.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding role focused on supporting successful healthcare candidates through the full onboarding and compliance process. You will build strong relationships with candidates, guide them through each stage and ensure they are fully compliant and ready to begin work within a targeted maximum 14-day period.

Previous recruitment or recruitment compliance experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage successful candidates from offer stage through to clearance and deployment.

  • Build a positive rapport with candidates and provide regular updates throughout their onboarding journey.

  • Collect and review application forms, right-to-work documents and other required compliance paperwork.

  • Process DBS checks, employment references, employment gaps, risk assessments and onboarding documentation.

  • Book candidates onto in-house and online training courses.

  • Ensure all candidate files meet company policies, healthcare regulations and safer recruitment requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on the applicant tracking system.

  • Identify and resolve delays or missing information to keep candidates progressing.

  • Work towards agreed KPIs, compliance standards and onboarding timescales.

  • Provide regular progress updates to the Team Leader and Group Head of Recruitment.

  • Promote a professional and positive candidate experience at every stage.

About You

You will be organised, proactive and comfortable managing a busy workload with competing priorities. You will also have:

  • Previous recruitment, candidate onboarding or recruitment compliance experience.

  • A strong understanding of recruitment compliance and safer recruitment processes.

  • Experience completing DBS checks, references, right-to-work checks and candidate documentation.

  • Excellent organisational, administrative and time-management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow clear policies and procedures.

  • Confidence communicating professionally by telephone and email.

  • The ability to build relationships and keep candidates engaged throughout the onboarding process.

  • A goal-driven approach and the ability to work independently.

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Experience using applicant tracking systems, databases and job boards.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook.

  • An understanding of the healthcare or care sector would be highly advantageous.
