Cardiff and Vale College is seeking a passionate and motivated Job Developer to join our Foundation Learning team. This rewarding role focuses on creating meaningful work placement opportunities for learners on Pathway Three programmes, helping them develop skills, confidence and independence as they prepare for their next steps.

Working closely with employers, business mentors and colleagues across the College, you will identify and develop inclusive placement opportunities, tailoring roles to meet individual learner needs through reasonable adjustments and personalised support. You will play a key role in helping learners gain valuable workplace experience whilst supporting employers to create positive and successful placement environments.

What You'll Do

You will work with local employers and partners to source and develop high-quality work placement opportunities for learners with additional learning needs and disabilities.

You will provide workplace support and job coaching, helping learners develop the skills, behaviours and confidence needed to succeed in employment settings. You'll work closely with employers, learners and wider support teams to ensure successful placements, identify appropriate reasonable adjustments and build sustainable workplace relationships.

The role also involves monitoring learner progress, maintaining accurate records, supporting travel training where required and promoting inclusive employment opportunities across the region.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic advocate for inclusive employment with experience supporting individuals to overcome barriers to work and progression.

You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with learners, families, employers and colleagues. You will be confident supporting learners in workplace environments and able to respond positively to challenges with a practical, solution-focused approach.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with young adults with additional learning needs and/or disabilities and who are passionate about helping individuals achieve their potential through meaningful work experiences.

Why Join Us

At Cardiff and Vale College, our learners are at the heart of everything we do. This is an opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious team, making a real difference to the lives of young people by helping them develop the skills, confidence and experiences needed for future employment.

You'll benefit from excellent professional development opportunities, a collaborative working environment and the chance to contribute to one of the UK's largest and most successful colleges.
