Consultant Psychiatrist

Based in North Somerset & South Gloucestershire

Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) are seeking two dedicated Consultant Psychiatrists to join our cohesive and supportive consultant group serving North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

AWP CAMHS consists of five community CAMHS teams, a hospital assessment and intensive outreach team (CIOT), two Learning Disability CAMHS teams, a young person’s substance misuse treatment service, Looked After Children’s CAMHS teams and a service for young people who engage in sexually harmful behaviour.

North Somerset CAMHS joined AWP in 2020 and has had recent investment in local Tier 2 services as well as the development of focussed specialist treatment pathways. Young people and parents are offered on-line psychoeducational sessions post-referral whilst waiting for assessment.

These 6 PA roles within the Core Community CAMHS team, focus on assessments of the team’s psychiatric referrals and psychiatric input alongside other team Consultants and onward allocation to therapeutic pathways such as CBT, DBT, trauma therapy/EMDR and family therapy.
