Overview
Reporting To: Production Manager
Location: Paragon Tools – Hull – UK
Company Overview
Paragon Tools is a leading designer and manufacturer of press tools, injection moulds, jigs and fixtures. We provide bespoke tooling solutions to many of the world’s leading manufacturers and first-tier suppliers within the automotive, aerospace, white goods, pharmaceutical and medical industries.
From the concept stage, right through design, manufacture and sample production, Paragon Tools provide the “Complete Tooling Solution” all under one roof. All aspects of the tooling projects are carried out in-house at our specialist manufacturing facility located in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Main Job Functions
Reporting directly to the Production Manager the Toolmaker will be responsible for and building, repair and maintaining a wide variety of press tools and other tooling.
The Toolmaker will need be competent in the use of tool room machinery, press try-out and be familiar with toolroom processes.
Key Tasks and Duties
- Building new tools
- Strip and rebuild existing tooling to carry out repairs and maintenance
- Analyse and assist in the proving of new tools during tool try-out
- Manage time effectively to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Maintaining a safe working environment whilst following Health and Safety procedures
- Follow company procedures and policies
- Operates within its ISO 9001 quality system
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested to meet the requirements of the company
- Actively assist in the training on less experienced member of the team
Skills & Qualifications
- Experienced Press Tool Toolmaker
- Experienced in surface grinding, manual milling and manual turning
- Able to work unsupervised
- Self-motivated
- Health and Safety conscious
- Ability to read, understand and follow engineering drawings
- Abrasive wheels certificate – preferred but no essential
- Safe use of power press certificate – preferred but no essential
- FLT and crane licence – preferred but no essential
- Full UK driving licence – preferred but no essential
Other Information
- Salary: £14.50 – £18.35 per hour
- Working Hours: 38 hours – Mon-Thursday 6:00am – 4:00pm, 30min lunchbreak
- Paid overtime
- 5 weeks holiday + Bank holidays
