Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable Caretaker to join our Facilities Services Team based at Sitwell Infant School.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming environments and enjoys working as part of a team supporting a school community.
About the Role
As Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the school's buildings and grounds are safe, secure, well-maintained and fit for purpose. You will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the site, undertaking routine maintenance, liaising with contractors, carrying out cleaning duties and helping to maintain a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
The post-holder will ensure the security, safety, cleanliness, maintenance and repair of Council Buildings.
The role includes key holder responsibilities and occasional emergency call-outs when required.
Working Hours
6:30am – 9:00am
3:00pm – 6:00pm
Flexibility will be required on occasion to support school events, meetings and other operational requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Ability to carry out routine repair work to buildings.
- Ability to carry out cleaning tasks in-line with cleaning specifications.
- Experience of working in building and site maintenance.
- An understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- Knowledge and experience of building security.
- Experience of working with trades people & contractors.
- Excellent numeracy & literacy skills.
