Working pattern: Part-time, term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave).
As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata.
Fixed term for: 12 months.

Westfield School is a charming village school, set in the countryside just outside of Hastings. Our school is a friendly and welcoming place where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive.
We aim to create confident, curious, and compassionate learners who are healthy, happy and supported to achieve the best they can. We are a good school and we are looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic Individual Needs Assistant to join our support team to work with some of our children with SEN.
You will be providing 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs in our Early Years Foundation Stage enabling them to access the curriculum. Other responsibilities may include working with small groups, implementing personalised support plans, personal care, supporting communication and behaviour strategies, monitoring progress and recording observations and liaising with teachers and outside professionals.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in supporting children with additional needs such as autism, speech, language and communication needs.
Knowledge of, and the ability to implement a range of strategies in order to keep the pupil motivated.
Understanding of SEND needs and has a commitment to inclusion within a mainstream setting.
Be able to work on own initiative following guidance from the SENDCO and class teacher.
Has excellent interpersonal skills and can build relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
A calm, patient, resilient and flexible approach.
