Deputy Head of GCSE Maths

Bolton College is looking to appoint ambitious, talented, and enthusiastic Deputy Head of GCSE Maths to join our flourishing team.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent.
  • Teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE).
  • Maths qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in English.
  • Knowledge of GCSE Maths curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Experience of monitoring and improving learner progress and achievement.
  • Experience of supporting colleagues to improve performance.

Day-to-day you will be responsible for

  • Leading the day-to-day management of GCSE provision within Maths.
  • Ensuring curriculum plans are ambitious, well sequenced and aligned to qualification requirements.
  • Monitoring the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Managing, mentoring and supporting teaching staff.
  • Monitoring progress against targets and predicted outcomes and leading strategies to improve high-grade achievement.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
