Are you an analytical, detail-focused professional with strong research and problem-solving skills? We are seeking an Intelligence Officer to join our Crime and Intelligence Command at Nottinghamshire Police.

What you'll do

  • Gather, research and evaluate intelligence from a wide range of sources, including police databases, open-source information and commercial data.
  • Develop and manage intelligence reports, ensuring information is accurately assessed, recorded and disseminated.
  • Produce intelligence products and structured assessments to support operational policing and investigations.
  • Support live investigations, incidents and operational activity through intelligence development and briefing.
  • Prepare intelligence briefings, reports and evidential products, including material for court proceedings.
  • Manage sensitive and covert intelligence in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
  • Prioritise intelligence workloads based on threat, risk and harm.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, information security and intelligence management standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience researching and analysing information from a variety of sources.
  • Experience using databases and computerised systems to manage and interrogate data.
  • Strong report-writing and communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to assess information, identify risks and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and the handling of sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Willingness to achieve and maintain Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation.
