The Role

To support the delivery of high-quality coaching within the Foundation Phase, ensuring young players are developed in line with the club’s playing philosophy and Academy Performance Plan.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and review coaching sessions that are age-appropriate, engaging, and in line with the Academy philosophy.
  • Support the holistic development of players across the Foundation Phase (technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social).
  • Create a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment for all players.
  • Work closely with the Foundation Phase Lead and multidisciplinary staff to ensure the effective development of players.
  • Support matchday coaching and review performance with players.
  • Contribute to player reviews, ensuring constructive feedback is provided to aid progression.
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare standards are upheld at all times.

  • Passionate about player development and grassroots/academy football.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Flexible and committed to evening/weekend availability.
  • Works well in a team and open to feedback.

Experience and Qualifications required

  • UEFA B (working towards) coaching qualification (minimum).
  • FA Youth Modules / Introduction to Coaching Football desirable.
  • Valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
  • Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF).
  • Previous experience working with children in a coaching capacity.
