About the Role

Calderdale Integrated Specialist Day Services is entering an exciting period of service redesign. As we shape the future, we’re looking for caring and committed Support Workers to help maintain safe, high quality support across our day services.

You will support adults with a wide range of assessed care and support needs including people with learning disabilities, older adults, and individuals with complex needs such as autism, dementia, distressed behaviour and health related conditions. Your work will help people stay connected, develop skills, and lead fulfilling lives.

We’re looking for people who can offer

  • Strong communication skills, including adapting your approach to suit different communication styles
  • Caring skills and experience supporting individuals with complex needs
  • The ability to remain calm, reassuring and solution focused during difficulties
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and safe working practices
  • An awareness of your own safety and the safety of others while delivering support
  • The ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions in real time
  • Basic IT skills to record information and use digital systems
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Willingness to complete manual handling training (or current experience)

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be part of Calderdale Council’s Integrated Day Services, working across welcoming centres:

  • Halifax – Higgins Close
  • Rastrick – Lower Edge

Services operate Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm giving you a healthy work life balance with no evening or weekend work.
