What you’ll be responsible for

This role is a Maintenance Technician that is electrially bias.

Maintaining, repairing and installing equipment as part of the main MEI teams, working individually or as part of a team. Able to fault-find, rectify problems with electrical systems and all ancillary equipment. This will include:

Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems generally

Demonstrating an ability to read, understand and work from electrical drawings

Maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation to ensure performance of all assets

Actively taking part in Risk Assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues

Identifying problematic plant and the subsequent faults and taking part in finding efficient solutions to return equipment to working orde

Identifying requirements of spares and materials using preferred suppliers

Completing all job cards and timesheets to allow for monitoring of workload, performance etc

Providing knowledge, information and onsite support for Welsh Water capital teams and operational teams

Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business

About you

Experience of working with pumps and variable speed drives

Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day

Knowledge of industrial processes and of fixed and variable speed motor control

Ability to read schematic diagrams and find and repair faults on electrical circuits

Solution focused approach to resolving problems

Ability to take responsibility make decisions and uses initiative, working proactively

The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the team is required for this role

Compliance with current standards and legislation i.e. BS7671: 2018, 18th Edition IET regulations

An excellent understanding of safe working practices and of planning and scheduling of work processes

Communication and ability to influence others

Working as part of a team

Critical thinking to be able to analyse information and provide a solution to situation effectively

Good to know

There will be a requirement to participate in standby rota when sufficient training has been completed
