Advanced Specialist Occupational Therapist - Housing

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated Band 7 Children’s Occupational Therapist who is keen to develop their specialist clinical skills and leadership abilities.

The role is permanent part-time (0.8 WTE); based at The Oak Tree Centre in Huntingdon.

You will be part of an effective, innovative and successful service, recognised for outstanding care.

You will be holding a caseload as well as supervising and line managing other members of the team. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the service.

The role will require you to work across the county of Cambridgeshire, and to work alongside a large number of housing, social care and health colleagues.

The role will require the ability to balance clinical priorities while providing support for the Team Lead and Associate Team Lead for the smooth running of the team. This includes supervision of staff, attendance and active contribution to band 7 meetings, as well as other designated roles that may need to be delegated to you by the Team Leader.

To provide an integrated Occupational Therapy service to children and young people and their families, with a focus on major housing adaptation. This will require highly specialist knowledge in the assessment of housing needs and provision including adaptations and equipment needs for children and young people and their families. It will require close, effective working relationships with the community occupational therapists and with colleagues in social care and housing.

You will be responsible for your own caseload and provide expert clinical support for colleagues within the team.

In addition you will actively play a part in the development of the service. You will have a mixed caseload at advanced practitioner level.
