Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist/ Clinical Psychologist

The post holder will be based in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Parent Infant Mental Health Service located in Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, CAMH Service. The post holder will lead and contribute to the ongoing development of the Best Start Family Hub Healthy Babies Programme. This initiative builds on developments undertaken over the past two years in partnership with the Local Authority through the Best Start for Life programme. The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of a universal – mild – moderate perinatal and parent-infant mental health (PIMH) service offer and care pathway, working in partnership with services across Rochdale. The service provides a clinical service, strategic leadership, training and workforce development in the perinatal period up until the child’s 2nd birthday across the multi-agency network in the borough. The service has good working relationships with Health Visiting, Maternity Services, Family Hubs, Adult Mental Health Services, Voluntary sector and Children’s Social Care, etc.
The post holder will work as a highly specialist practitioner implementing and developing a community based therapeutic service to expectant parents, infants, and their families with a particular focus on early intervention and preventative work with high risk and vulnerable families (e.g. socially excluded families). S/he will provide assessment and treatment of the parent-infant relationship, working with parents/carers and infants grounded in the principles and techniques of psychoanalytic psychotherapy/Clinical Psychology.
The training and strategic development aspect of the role involves acting as a specialist resource, and contributing to multi-agency training of relevant professionals across the borough. The post holder will be expected to offer consultation and clinical supervision to professional colleagues.
