Role Purpose
The HR Administrator and Business Support Apprentice will provide administrative support across HR and wider business operations, helping the team deliver an efficient, professional and confidential service to clients and colleagues. The role is designed to support someone starting their career in HR, giving practical experience in employee administration, client documentation, record keeping, recruitment and onboarding support, and general business administration.
Role Overview
This is an entry-level apprenticeship role within a supportive HR consultancy environment. The postholder will assist with a range of HR administration and business support duties, including maintaining accurate records, preparing documentation, supporting client processes, responding to queries and learning to use internal systems effectively.
The role requires a professional, organised and proactive approach, with a strong focus on confidentiality, accuracy and willingness to learn. The apprentice will be supported by colleagues and will develop knowledge and confidence through hands-on experience and completion of a relevant apprenticeship programme.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the HR team with everyday admin tasks
- Answering the phone to incoming calls, and communicate information to relevant team members
- Draft employee contracts, liaise with clients to ensure all information is provided, and assign to appropriate advisor
- Involvement in the management of our client’s probation reviews
- Create letters and documents using templates from our quality controlled system
- Ensuring that client files (both electronically and ‘hard copies’) comply with any data protection laws and follow a code of confidentiality
- Maintaining and updating client records as required
- Completing file audits for our clients in relation to their employee files, this will include scanning in documents and completing spreadsheets with required information
- Digitally drafting client handbooks using our online system, and assign to relevant advisor for checking and sending
- Updating client handbooks and the master handbook, as advised, and assign to the relevant HR Consultant
- Preparing client proposals and documentation for the Director as required
- Learning and maintaining knowledge of all internal systems used
- Creating client review reports ahead of meetings
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be keen to begin a career in HR and business support, with the motivation to learn, develop and contribute positively to a small, supportive team.

- Good IT skills, including email and Microsoft Office
Desirable Criteria
The following criteria are not essential but would be beneficial for the role:
- A-levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications).
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
Training
During this advanced apprenticeship, you will learn a vast range of knowledge, skills and behaviours, covering topics such as project management, systems & processes, business structures and so much more.
You will undertake the ground-breaking Professional Apprenticeships HR Support Level 3 qualification. Professional Apprenticeships hold the title of Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year for 2021. They also boast the highest Ofsted rating, which only a select few training providers in the region have.

Pay: £17,000.00 per year
