Company Secretary
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
These are exciting times at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH). Our Vision is simple but powerful: Healthier Together – Delivering Exceptional Care for All. This vision shapes everything we do, driving our ambition to deliver the best outcomes for patients while creating a supportive, respectful and empowering environment for colleagues. Our values and behaviours, known as We Care, are brought to life through the DBTH Way.
As part of this journey, we are seeking an exceptional Company Secretary to support DBTH on its continuing journey to strengthen leadership, governance and organisational effectiveness, providing expert governance advice and support at the heart of our DBTH Team.
We are looking for someone who is calm, credible and forward-thinking, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to build confidence and trusted relationships with board members, governors and colleagues across the organisation.
As the successful candidate, you will play a central role in ensuring strong and effective corporate governance across the Trust, providing high-quality support to the Board of Directors, Council of Governors and Executive Team.
You will lead a small team and be someone who is practical, proactive and delivery-focused, with the ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment.
Working closely with the Chair, Chief Executive, Board of Directors and Council of Governors, you will help ensure the Trust complies with all relevant legal, constitutional and regulatory requirements associated with Foundation Trust status.
You will also make a significant contribution to the effectiveness of the Board and Council of Governors by providing clear, professional advice and support on a wide range of governance and legislative matters.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Chair, Chief Executive and senior leadership team, contributing directly to the leadership and direction of the Trust.
For an informal discussion with the Acting Chief Executive, please contact Lauren Butterfield, Executive PA to the Chair and Chief Executive, on 01302 644153.
DBTH is one of Yorkshire’s Leading acute trusts, serving a population of more than 440,000. Our services are based over three main hospital sites and several additional services employing over 7,000 colleagues.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to the values of We Care and now the DBTH Way builds upon these foundations, providing further clarity on what it means to embody these values in our everyday interactions.
As an organisation that supports flexible working, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you.
