Consultant in Emergency Medicine

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

There has never been a better time to join York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals Trust as we continue to deliver our programme of workforce transformation and service development. We have recently completed a £47 million capital development programme, delivering a modern Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (UECC) alongside a combined Critical Care unit. The UECC brings together the Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre and Same Day Emergency Care service into a single environment, designed to provide a seamless patient journey.

We provide 24/7 urgent and emergency care to a large and diverse geographical population across North and East Yorkshire, serving Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington and wider rural communities including Malton and Kirkbymoorside.

Our state-of-the-art helipad supports all-weather access for air ambulance and rescue services, enhancing our ability to deliver timely emergency care. Supporting a modern Acute Medical Model the UECC enables earlier senior decision-making and improved flow through the hospital, delivering specialist care closer to the point of entry.

You will join a well-established, high-achieving and supportive Emergency Medicine team, in a modern clinical environment designed around patient flow and staff experience.
