Due to a growing workload across Essex and the South East, we're looking to expand our Brentwood-based team with enthusiastic archaeologists at every level. Whether you're taking your first steps into commercial archaeology or are an experienced Team Leader, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunities

Team Leaders (PS / PO / SPO)

Lead projects, supervise teams and deliver high-quality archaeological work across Essex and the wider region.

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Confident leading fieldwork and reporting
  • Strong communicators with a practical mindset
  • Comfortable managing teams, clients, and site challenges
  • Organised, adaptable, and solutions-focused

You’ll also need:

  • Solid commercial archaeology experience
  • Knowledge of legislation and frameworks
  • A flexible approach to travel and working away
  • A full clean driving licence (essential)

SSSTS/SMSTS and CIfA membership are a bonus, not a barrier.

Salary: £30,115 – £38,567 (depending on experience)

Project Assistants

Whether you already have field experience or you're looking to start your archaeology career, we want to hear from you.

You’ll be:

  • Working on a wide range of field projects
  • Building your skills in a hands-on environment
  • Supported by structured training and experienced colleagues

No experience? No problem. We invest heavily in training through CIfA-accredited development plans and the BAJR Skills Passport.

Salary: £28,381.91 – £29,680 (depending on experience) £26,737.15 for a trainee level on our 6 or 12 month training plan
