Required for September 2026 or sooner if possible.
37 hours per week, Monday - Friday all year round.
We are looking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic and highly committed School Caretaker who will ensure that our children learn in a safe, clean and healthy environment. The successful applicant will be an important member of our school team and have a positive approach to this key role.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Be dedicated, hardworking and take pride in their work
- Be forward thinking, proactive and able to use their own initiative in the role
- Be a team player who is friendly and professional, relating well to adults and children
- Be responsible, flexible and reliable with a good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Be skilled in basic DIY and have the ability to carry out minor repairs in school.
The post will involve:
- Daily cleaning of a section of the school building
- Site security including locking and unlocking premises
- Routine repair and maintenance tasks and porterage duties
- Liaison with contractors and ordering cleaning/domestic materials
- Being the primary key holder for the site and an out of hours emergency contact.
The school will:
- Provide supportive line management and on-going vocational training
- Provide a varied and challenging work context in a welcoming and friendly school environment
- A well-being package.
