Building Officer

About the Role

Rochdale Town Hall is an iconic Grade 1 listed building, now open to the public after a four year National Lottery Heritage fund restoration project. We are looking for a Building Officer to join our team and help us maintain our extraordinary building for generations to come.

Your role will be to assist the Building Manager and other key facilities staff to deliver efficient and effective Facilities Management services at the Town Hall. From dealing with contractors, to maintaining statutory compliance, to supporting our busy events programme, this role will be different every day.

We are looking for somebody with experience of looking after a site, preferably in an historic or listed building. You will need to be able to think on your feet and respond to all sorts of challenges day to day.

Security experience or SIA training would be an advantage. It is important that you are comfortable with working at height, and with carrying out regular physical work such as moving furniture and equipment, or small maintenance jobs.

Above all you should be respectful of our historic building, ready and willing to learn, and reliable.
