Apprentice - Production (September 2026 start)

The apprentice will learn the fundamental knowledge required to work in a protective coatings manufacturing environment and equip them on their career path to become a proactive and innovative member of the operations team. The role will cover involvement in project work, production, milling, filling, labelling, dispatch and goods in and suggesting further improvements for work. The apprentice will learn the basics of operations, how the coatings are made and developed and tested, and the process for delivery to the market place. Working amongst a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable individuals, their operational knowledge will grow exponentially over the course of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in improvement activities, seeking to constantly reduce costs wherever possible without having a detrimental effect on quality
  • To contribute to the effective running of the team by adopting a flexible attitude to working practices
  • To execute allocated work within agreed deadlines, in accordance with procedures and SOP’s
  • To assist in development of 6s standards within communal areas
  • Is proactive in the approach to process improvement, offering new ideas and encouraging others to do the same
  • Is prepared to undertake training in a positive manner both for self-development and for the provision of departmental cover
  • Encourages and develops a team culture both within own team and across the company
  • Achievement of effective communication both within own team and between teams
  • Ensures a proactive approach to implementation of all H&S and security requirements.

Qualifications

Formal Education

GCSE English language C or 4 or above

GCSE Maths C or 4 or above
