Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in SEND who is passionate about creating positive learning experiences for children with additional needs. You'll play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom while working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to deliver high-quality, personalised support.

The Opportunity

As the Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll take responsibility for supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build the confidence they need to succeed.

You'll also be a valued member of the wider support team, sharing your experience and helping to ensure consistent, effective support is delivered across the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to support pupils with SEND
• Work alongside teachers to adapt lessons and learning resources to meet individual needs
• Support pupils with their academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development
• Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning programmes
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO
• Help develop strategies that promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
• Provide guidance and support to other Teaching Assistants when required
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment at all times

About You

The Successful Candidate Will

• Have previous experience supporting children with SEND within a primary or specialist school
• Be confident working with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
• Have a patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children
• Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
• Be committed to promoting inclusion and achieving the best outcomes for every child
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
