Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Girls Football Development Officer to lead, grow, and inspire the next generation of female footballers. This role is central to expanding the girls’ football provision across our programmes, supporting player development, coach mentoring, and engaging local schools, grassroots clubs, and community partners.
You will work closely with our wider coaching team to design and deliver high-quality football experiences tailored to girls of all ages and abilities, helping shape a positive, inclusive environment where players can thrive both on and off the pitch.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Delivery & Coordination
- Manage and lead on our Girl’s team coaching programme and opportunities to expand our offering.
- Lead and develop girls-only football sessions, camps, and school programmes
- Oversee player development pathways from grassroots to advanced level
- Support and mentor female coaches within the organisation
- Community & School Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with local schools, grassroots clubs, and County FAs
- Increase participation by actively promoting girls’ football opportunities
- Plan and deliver school holiday camps, tournaments, and festivals
- Player Development
- Monitor and track player progress, ensuring sessions are challenging, inclusive, and engaging
- Identify and nurture talented players, supporting transitions into club environments or academies
- Administration & Compliance
- Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and GDPR policies are followed
- Maintain accurate registers, session plans, and development records
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Head of Football Development
Essential Requirements
- Minimum FA Level 2 / UEFA C qualification in Coaching Football (or working towards)
- Experience coaching girls and/or managing girls’ football programmes
- A strong understanding of female player development and youth football structures
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Enhanced DBS, First Aid, and Safeguarding Children certification (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- UEFA B Licence or working towards
- Experience working in school and community settings
- Knowledge of talent pathways and experience working with advanced players
- Passion for championing female participation and inclusion in sport
