An opportunity for a Diagnostic Healthcare Assistant has arisen to work within the Medical Physics department at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. Medical Physics consists of three teams: Physiological Measurements, Neurophysiology and Nuclear Medicine. Each team provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic investigations.

The Diagnostic Healthcare Assistant is a member of a multidisciplinary team who undertakes duties in relation to direct patient care and department administration for all three teams within Medical Physics.

The Diagnostic Healthcare Assistant provides clinical, technical and administrative support across three specialist diagnostic areas within Medical Physics. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients undergoing complex diagnostic procedures, provide emotional support, and exercise judgement in responding to patient needs and clinical requirements within a regulated environment.

The Post Holder Under Indirect Supervision Will Support The Medical Physics Team To Ensure Efficient Service Delivery Across All Areas By

  • Preparing clinical rooms with the correct consumables, setting up in readiness for clinics, understanding the various procedures to do this effectively and managing stock control.
  • Acting as a chaperone / assisting with certain diagnostic investigations.
  • Providing clinical duties under indirect supervision such as pregnancy testing and urinalysis.
  • Undertaking various administrative and cleaning duties in accordance with manufacturer specifications and departmental protocols to ensure safe and compliant operation.
